Overview of Risk Minimize

Asvaco Preliminary Facility Site Assessment develops a high-level overview of the threats to your facility.  The goal is not to delve into details in all areas but rather to gain an overview of the vulnerabilities.  Measuring the risks, recognizing potential hazards, and identifying critical areas and weaknesses, can be enough to communicate the risks to upper management, security planners, and policymakers.

Asvaco Preliminary Facility Site Assessment Minimize

The Asvaco Preliminary Facility Site Assessment will identify the facility and measure risks to the Outer and Middle of Protective Layers of Security.  The assessment helps you recognize potential hazards / threats to adjacent properties, terrain, site access, vehicle approach, and street furniture near and around the facility.  The assessment will further study the physical barriers, territoriality, site circulation, pedestrian access, site parking, facility amenities and the facility’s landscaping.

Protective Layers of Security Minimize

The various layers of security (as described in the ASIS Guideline, Facilities Physical Security Measures) are indicated as the Outer, Middle and Inner Protective Layers. This is a traditional approach in security engineering and uses concentric squares and/or circles extending out from an area or facility to the building or asset that requires protection.  They can be seen as demarcation points for different security strategies.  Identifying the layers of defense early in the assessment process will help you to better understand the assets that require protection and determine your mitigation options.

The Next Step Minimize
Asvaco presents risks in simplified ways using a color-coded scoring system.  For instance, if an assessment report shows its condition “Yellow” (scored 6 or higher), a more detailed assessment might be recommended.  To conduct comprehensive assessments, Asvaco can help you selectively assess your facility’s vulnerabilities (Tier 1 and 2), threat/hazard identifications (Tier 3), criminal behavior patterns, or avenue of approach (Tier 4).
